WATCH: Jackie Sikes REJECTED Paul Wellenberger Before Trying To Appoint Her Husband

Mayor Jackie Sikes is a liar and manipulator.

Mayor Jackie Sikes has spent the last 2 years trying to land cushy jobs for her family. She’s abused her power at the Chamber of Commerce. Now this!

Not only did she lie to the City Council and Paul Wellenberger, but she did it in front of the entire city on camera! New emails have been released.

After Paul Wellenberger tried to apply to be on the Fairfield Bay Historic Preservation Commission in October, Jackie told him not to bother because there were already other applicants. Jackie then turned around in December and tried to get her husband the position at a City Council meeting by claiming nobody else wanted the role! She even tried to pass a new city ordinance to make it happen. When asked weeks later if Paul Wellenberger applied for the job, Jackie lied AGAIN and claimed Paul Wellenerger never reached out to her when confronted by Dan Feuer!

Jackie Sikes’ Crooked Game Involving Husband Revealed

On December 11, 2023 at the regular City Council meeting, Jackie Sikes stated that no one had stepped forward to fill the vacant position on the Historic Preservation Commission. In her words, “no takers”. She then read a missive from her husband, Sean Sikes, offering to take the position. Then Jackie offered an ordinance to allow her husband to take the position. Smelling something wrong with this, the entire City Council declined to support Jackie’s ordinance about her husband.

At the City Council meeting on December 11th, Jackie is recorded claiming that nobody applied to be on the commission:

“For two months, we advertised the position and didn’t get any takers.”

BUT THAT’S A LIE. Paul Wellenberger applied and got a written response rejecting his application.

Emails Expose Jackie Sikes

Meanwhile, emails show that Paul Wellenberger was TOLD by Jackie Sikes that the role was already taken as early as October.

An email dated October 5th (Two months before the video above), Jackie REJECTED Paul Wellenberger’s application. writing:

“Dear Mr. Wellenberger, Thank you for your interest in the Historic Preservation Commission. I received several applications for the open positions…. If at that time you are still interested I will consider accepting you [sic] application.”

Jackie Sikes Gets Confronted And Lies Again

Lake Area Weekly editor Dan Feuer confronted Mayor Jackie on January 8th after discovering Paul Wellenberger’s application was rejected.

He asked Jackie Sikes point-blank if she knew about other applicants:

“At the previous city council meeting, you had stated that for two months you had put out the request for someone to step up… and that nobody stepped up. And you proceeded to read Sean’s email to them. Do you still maintain that?”

Jackie responded:

“Yes.”

Dan pressed on:

“Well I have an email here dated October 5th… to Paul Wellenberger.”

He revealed the existence of the Paul Wellenberger email and how other people reportedly applied for the role.

This Is A Pattern

This keeps happening!

Jackie Sikes was caught granting an award to HER OWN 501C3 for “Non-profit of The Year” in a scandal involving the Attorney General during her time as Chairman of the Fairfield Bay Chamber of Commerce.

Jackie continues to act in ways that give her more power and attention while hurting our city. In fact, it was Jackie and Martin Bailey who sent secret emails to the Corps of Engineers to undermine and humiliate city council members and community club members.

Jackie is at war with the Community Club. She is at war with the City Council. She tried to fire the city attorney. She just targeted the treasurer at the last city council meeting by selecting speakers meant to ambush Rose.

Enough is enough. It’s time to end this madness once and for all.
