Mayor Jackie Sikes is accused of tampering with the Fairfield Bay Marina’s promotional sign by putting her own sign over it.
Mayor Jackie never told anyone. She just covered up the Marina’s large promotional sign meant to help tourists navigate to the Marina.
For context, the Marina is one of the most profitable sources of revenue in Fairfield Bay — and Mayor Jackie Sikes just covered up their sign that’s been there for years without telling anyone and confusing tourists. She didn’t communicate with anyone and just did it.
A new letter has been released by the group trying to remove Mayor Jackie Sikes as mayor of Fairfield Bay. The letter says that Jackie Sikes had a new campground sign created for the campground at the Marina and had it placed over the Marina’s sign. The old sign had been there for years. She removed it without telling anyone at the Marina.
Letter Slamming Jackie Released
According to the group “We The (Majority Of The) People Of Fairfield Bay,” the event represents a trend with Mayor Jackie Sikes who keeps going around people’s back to promote herself at the expense of others:
“Would it have been appropriate to give the club a heads-up that the Marina sign that has been there for years is being replaced?”
The letter goes on to say:
“This is a perfect example of poor leadership you do not take something that has been in place for years and cover it up…”
Jackie has been fighting with the Community Club over the park for many months. But the fact that she’s going out of her way to cover up Marina property just because she can is wrong.
The Marina’s success helps everyone in Fairfield Bay. It increases property value. It makes our land worth more. We should encourage tourists to go there.
Maybe if Jackie Sikes actually owned a home in Fairfield Bay, she would not be reckless and put our city’s most popular destinations at risk.
