You can’t believe a word Mayor Jackie Sikes says at city council meetings!
The Mayor recently claimed a complaint was filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC enforces laws that make discrimination illegal in the workplace) against the city regarding Animal Control.
Our investigation shows that no official complaint was filed. Just an email was sent by Animal Control.
FIOA documents prove that Mayor Jackie Sikes misrepresented the EEOC complaint. EEOC does not have any complaints on record. No complaint exists at this time.
No EEOC Complaint Filed
On April 15th, Mayor Jackie Sikes claimed that an EEOC complaint was filed involving the city of Fairfield Bay.

However, the official complaint won’t actually get filed until AFTER an interview is requested. According to documents, they have asked to have an “interview” on May 13th.
No complaint will be filed until the interview takes place. Even then, a complaint might not even get filed depending on how the interview goes.

It just goes to show that you can’t trust what’s being announced at these City Council meetings by the mayor.
