Please text or call 501-253-1943 if you are ready to sign the petition to remove Jackie Sikes as mayor of Fairfield Bay.

“We The Majority” are receiving requests almost daily to sign the recall petition. We also get comments from business owners and retired citizens of Fairfield Bay encouraging us in our mission to get the recall of the mayor on the ballot. We get texts, phone calls and most recently a letter from a citizen who wishes to remain anonymous due to the bullying, vilifying and vandalism that occurs to those that question the mayor and her polices.

We received the following letter this week.

SIGN UP - Big announcement coming soon!

I wanted to voice my complaints regarding the Mayor and the Campground. I’ve been a resident for quite awhile here in FFB and love it here. So I’m familiar with the going ons. What I don’t like is when the Mayor is hardly ever in the City Hall office working but always at the welcome hut conducting meetings and working there instead of in her office.

I thought she said at several meetings (when watching on the internet) that she had 50 plus volunteers? So, if she has so many volunteers, why the need to be at the Welcome Hut all the time?

You get paid $44,000.00 in a yearly salary as I understand it.

You can’t manage to have the volunteers that you have to cut grass and make repairs? You have your volunteers show up to your meetings, including department heads, to support you and make it seem like a majority when in actuality it’s an illusion of a very small loud minority that have time to show up to your meetings.

I’ve been going to the Marina daily to document my findings, so I have seen it for myself. When I go to the Marina I always see Dallas, the city code enforcement officer, constantly working on repairs. If you have made $31,000 like you stated at the last meeting, why aren’t you using the money to hire someone to do maintenance, or use your volunteers that you say you have so many of?

Dallas and former city council member Ron Milligan, bless their hearts, have expressed in prior meetings they don’t want to be involved with the repairs at the camp grounds because they are overwhelmed with the work in the city.

The other day at the Marina, a resident went to city hall looking to get a permit and ended up coming down to the Marina because he couldn’t find Dallas for three days. If I’m correct, I heard you say at the most recent meeting that Dallas is working on the Conference Center deck. So my question is how are folks suppose to file permits, ask questions and get home inspection done in a timely manner if you and Dallas aren’t at the City Hall Office? Dallas is doing a fantastic job, don’t get me wrong. He just can’t be in two places at once.

What you said last year and what is actually being done isn’t aligning with what came out of your mouth. I’m starting to see a patter of twisted truths and manipulative lies to the residents of Fairfield Bay.

Where is your actual job address? The Welcome Hut or City Hall? And what’s the deal with the Mayor always taking personal days off on Fridays?

I’ve gone to City Hall several times and when I ask Rosie where’s the mayor on Friday’s you are never there?  It’s either you are at the campground or taking a personal day off.

I’m concerned since you are a paid elected official who is not doing their job!
